leaving on a jet plane...

…batch (beach house) he minds up here. Pristine conditions meant that at times it was almost like snorkelling without getting wet. Fish, fish, fish is what we saw, so fish, fish, fish is what we did in the evening and as I had the lucky rod, I'd caught two before Buzz could even cast his. Then fish, fish, fish (and chocolate) for dinner. In fact that set the scene for the week and we ate fish five out of the next six days. This was spurred on by the fact that Ian Candy took us out on his wee boat and I caught the biggest snapper I've ever seen in real life, and then two decent kawhais from 30 meters! Here is my pride and joy:-

That night we smoked and chowed on fresh fish, and I have never enjoyed fish so much.

Uncle Andrew, intent on getting me fit for my trip, took me on a few tiki tours, hiking and driving about northlands spectacular lands and coasts. We also spent a night at a marine reserve and park where we snorkelled with huge snapper (bigger than my one) and stingray and fishies of all colours and sizes + got a big of decent body surfing in too.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the beautiful wedding of Anna and James and Sam out at Maori Bay, west of Akl, where the light breeze carried many a tear away but the pledging of love to each other in front of all gives us hope in marriage.

It has been oh so wonderful to see so many friends, Moni with her wicked new business project, Scott and Trin have landed on their feet and have a great set up in south Akl, Sadie, as beautiful as ever - are you ever gonna age girl?, Bernie, also looking lovely and settled in the cayman now, Wills, in good spirits and boogying, Nicole, who has just bought a house - woah, Gwenda, don't worry babe - June will be here before you know it, Dan, wicked homes at both akl and beach, you are a

babe… etc, etc. I fly into Santiago tomorrow, leaving NZ at 5.10pm and arriving the same day at midday in Chile. So now the adventure begins.

FYI those of you in London - I will be arriving back in the UK on July 15th for about a month.
